Vexed for Nokia 7650 and 3650 Released

The OPL Runtime for Series 60 has been released, and I've been working on Vexed for Series 60 since receiving an early copy. Now Nokia 7650 and 3650 owners can join in the fun and frustration! Download it now!

please ntoe that Vexed must be installed on the "C:" Drive of your phone, or it won't work - a new SIS forcing this will be uploaded shortly. Posted by: Ewan (The Author) on April 30, 2003 12:31 AM
Hi, congrats for your game. Just played the first four levels and it works fine - on a Siemens SX1. (-: Posted by: ffellow on April 30, 2003 10:38 AM
Vexed won't install on my 3650 - quits during the install process with a "This file is not compatible with your phone" error and quits out of the installer totally. Posted by: Colin on May 1, 2003 04:19 AM
i have the same problem ... bummer Posted by: darren on May 1, 2003 06:36 AM
Thanks for the bug notes. Two problems could be causing this. One, the sis expected an English language phone. I've removed this request. Second, you get a warning and you haven;t spotted that YES and NO are on the oppostie sides of the screen. Can you check the newly updated zip and let me know how you get on? I get the same problem on my 9210 ;) Sorry couldn't resist. Posted by: SwitchBlade on May 2, 2003 04:44 PM
I downloaded the new zip file. Same problem. I don't get any way to get installation to start at all. I just get presented with a dialog saying "The file is not compatible with your phone" and there is only one button labelled "Abandon". Click that button and it quits the installer. Just to make sure that I am using the correct version, the Vexed SIS says version 050(0) Posted by: Colin on May 3, 2003 06:02 AM
Right then, we're trying to work out why this is (myself and the rest of the OPL-Dev team). Can you send the SIS file to your phone (either via IrDA or Bluetooth) so it arrives in the messaging application, and install from there. It could be you're installing from the PC by double clicking and the pC Suite is causing problems - it's unclear from the mails and comments. If this keeps happening, what's the *exact* steps you are taking from empty phone to the error screen coming up? Posted by: Ewan on May 3, 2003 03:16 PM
OK installing Vexed by sending it directly to the phone allows Vexed to be installed on a 3650. This would then show the Yes/No option that Ewan has mentioned after it reports that the file may be incompatible with the phone. Installing via PC Suite simply aborts with the incompatible file message. OPL will work when installed to the memory card. Looking forward to Vexed being able to install to the memory card. Thank you Ewan for Vexed on Series 60! Posted by: Colin on May 3, 2003 05:21 PM

Installed vexed 4 days ago on my 7650, great game! Stuck on level 34 for the last 2 days. How do we get solutions?? Posted by: Christophe on August 28, 2003 05:36 AM
In general the "This file is not compatible with your phone" error is usually because of invalid device info in the package file. For Series 60 0.9 upwards the device info is: (0x101F6F88), 0, 0, 0, {"Series60ProductID"} That line should be included underneath the line beginning with the hash. ..Ant Posted by: Ant on May 3, 2024 05:03 AM
